Carer Training

Occupational Therapists are trained to clinically assess the function and care of client. Carer training can demonstrate the guidelines set out in care plans to family and employed carers.

 

Occupational Therapy connects the function and ability of a client with their goals for daily living. Following OT assessment, an outcome may include the development of a Care Plan for appropriate and safe care methods.  

Carer training can include guidance for safe and best practice transfers. When third parties are funding and supplying care supports, an OT assessment and carer training will be best practice care pathway.

Client Centred Care

The Occupational Therapist will make recommendations on clinical best practice. The OT will also include the preferences of the client and how they relate to their daily living, expectations and goals.
